The Design
The wall came first. A pale, finely textured stucco whose grain only shows in raking light. Rather than compete with it, the client wanted something that felt drawn from the same palette — so we went looking for stone with a soft base and a vein that would carry the accent. This cylinder sits in a matte black bracket, held just clear of the wall so shadow does the rest. The plum veining runs on its own and never repeats, and the black hardware ties into the door's ironmongery without matching it exactly.
